Database Developer - Oracle (on-site Interviews in Dallas)

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and implement database solutions based on business and end-user requirements
  • Design, develop, and maintain database systems to ensure stability, reliability, and high performance
  • Refactor existing database objects to support system enhancements, controls, diagnostics, and research initiatives
  • Support and evaluate new technologies to improve or enhance current database capabilities
  • Perform database performance tuning and optimization to improve application efficiency
  • Prepare technical documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for database applications
  • Maintain database code and artifacts in a version control system
  • Collaborate with database team members, application developers, and support teams
  • Provide support during critical software or production issues as needed
  • Continuously learn and apply new database development tools and techniques

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle relational database modeling, development, and shell scripting
  • 3+ years of experience with:
    • Oracle DDL and DML
    • PL/SQL and SQL
    • Database objects (tables, views, triggers, procedures, functions, packages)
    • Tools such as SQL*Plus, SQL Developer, SQLcl
    • Data modeling tools (e.g., SQL Modeler, ERwin, TOAD)
    • Data extraction, Oracle Data Pump, SQL Loader
    • Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting
  • Experience using database version control tools (or equivalent systems)
  • Strong background in database testing and performance tuning
  • Proven ability to lead or contribute to database transformation and enhancement initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on technical documentation
