About the role
This position requires strong knowledge and experience in Oracle PL/SQL and SQL, as well as participation in production implementations and general technical trouble shooting. The ideal candidate will have experience designing, developing, and maintaining scripts for automation, data processing, and database maintenance and monitoring solutions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in production implementations, working closely with other members of the production support group to ensure the proper transition of system changes into production environments
- Design, develop, and maintain scripts for automation, data processing, and database maintenance and monitoring solutions using scripting languages including PL/SQL, Perl, and shell
- Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
- Data analysis and debugging with a focus on identifying data quality issues
- Provide application troubleshooting support, identifying root causes and implementing permanent resolutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation including system diagrams and operational procedures
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve database and application performance issues, working closely with application, infrastructure, and support teams
- Ensure database environments follow best practices for reliability, scalability, and security
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
- Minimum of 4-10 years of job-related experience as a DBA
- Ability to create, modify, and tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data and system performance issues
- Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies like RDS, Lambda, EC2, Redshift is a plus
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Oracle performance tuning, including SQL and PL/SQL optimization
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including triggers, procedures, functions, and packages
- Proficiency in SQL Developer, SQL Loader, and related Oracle tools
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills
Skills
- Oracle database performance tuning
- Experience with Grants.gov applications
- Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting
- Knowledge of AWS is a plus

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
Schedule
May require participation in a 24X7 on-call rotation or overnight deployment.
