Database Administrator 5 (Database Administrator 1st Shift, Mon - Friday)

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, harden, patch, upgrade, maintain, and administer production and development MSSQL 2022 SQL instances.
• Perform logical and physical design, performance monitoring and tuning, troubleshooting, capacity planning, database backup and recovery, and query optimization/tuning.
• Configure and maintain SQL Agent jobs, server audits, and SSIS packages.
• Configure and maintain Always on Availability Groups.
• Write, debug, and maintain Power Shell scripts to automate administration tasks.
• Harden SQL instances per DISA, FISMA and GOV Best Practice STIGs.
• Configure and maintain Transparent Data Encryption and Secure Socket Layer Encryption.
• Configuring and administering MongoDB.

Qualifications

• Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required with 12 years of experience. 8 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• PWS Specified Certifications: This position requires privileged system access. The applicant shall have six months to obtain ONE of the following industry standard certification:
• Microsoft SQL Server 2016 Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or above
• Microsoft SQL Server Solutions Expert, Data Platform (MCSE) or above
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Database Administrator SQL 2016 (or greater)
• Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
