Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Retirement Services Operations, the Data and Process Analyst is responsible for the delivery of specific defined benefit and defined contribution processes ensuring consistency with Funds' strategy and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pension payroll processing – coordinate batch processing calendars with IT and Finance departments, reconcile month-over-month headcount and financial activity and troubleshoot variances, validate tax withholding activity, document recurring procedures and keep disaster recovery plans up to date.
- Process and review actuarial valuation data files – work with management and consulting actuaries to generate annual census data files for use in determining the funded position of 32BJ’s pension plans.
- Provide support for audits of pension plans and SRSP (401(k) Plan) – work with external CPA auditors to validate payment activity for disbursements made from benefit plans.
- Provide support for the Annual 1099 project - support the accurate and timely preparation, validation, and distribution of annual 1099 tax forms.
- Annual IRS Form 8955 project - support the annual generation, review, and submission process for IRS Form 8955 by coordinating data extraction, validation, cleanup, and quality review across pension plans.
- Coordination of all batch processes, including RMDs, age 65 notifications and suspension batches.
- SRSP weekly data processing – validate weekly census files sent to TPA for recordkeeping.
- SRSP projects including IRS non-discrimination testing file preparation, and RMD review.
- Special pension participant data/eligibility research.
- SRSP participant issue resolution.
- V3 implementation - work with Implementation Team on system enhancements including UAT, calc spec review, report/batch spec review, creating and reviewing test cases.
- Special projects or tasks, as assigned by management.
Qualifications (Competencies):
- Two years' experience in defined benefit administration or defined contribution plan administration preferred.
- Knowledge of pension calculations and validation of data elements preferred.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically, Microsoft Excel (a proficiency assessment will be administered).
- MS Dynamics and QlikView experience preferred.
- V3locity V10 experience helpful.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decisions-making skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
- Detail oriented with strong ability to multitask.
