Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct general electrical checks and diagnose issues within low-voltage wiring, control panels, and communication lines.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units to ensure continuous backup power for critical systems.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning alarm components and restore systems to full functionality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and service activities.
  • Cook up coordination with building supervisors, public safety officials, and outside vendors when necessary.
  • Respond to alarm-related calls, system failures, or urgent maintenance issues across township facilities.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Proven experience in alarm installation, low-voltage wiring, or electrical maintenance.
  • Knowledge of fire and security alarm systems, control panels, detectors, circuits, and power supplies. Fire alarm or security system installation Certification preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and building plans.
  • Familiarity with electrical codes and municipal safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple township locations.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
