Key Responsibilities
- Conduct general electrical checks and diagnose issues within low-voltage wiring, control panels, and communication lines.
- Inspect, test, and maintain UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) units to ensure continuous backup power for critical systems.
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning alarm components and restore systems to full functionality.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, repairs, and service activities.
- Cook up coordination with building supervisors, public safety officials, and outside vendors when necessary.
- Respond to alarm-related calls, system failures, or urgent maintenance issues across township facilities.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in alarm installation, low-voltage wiring, or electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire and security alarm systems, control panels, detectors, circuits, and power supplies. Fire alarm or security system installation Certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and building plans.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and municipal safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently across multiple township locations.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
