About the role
Tactibit Technologies supports critical missions for the Federal Government, including satellite operations, critical infrastructure, and search and rescue. We seek a talented Data Technician to join our remote team.
Responsibilities
- Support mission-critical systems that handle petabytes of environmental and scientific data daily.
- Collect, review, and input data into a computer processing system.
- Review and audit output data.
- Research, design, deploy, and document new data management tools and techniques.
- Manage large-scale data sets from modern ground systems and applications.
- Support data management processing including data migration, backup, and recovery.
- Provide reporting metrics to management and customers.
- Assist with troubleshooting issues.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure sound data management practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Requirements
- 8+ years of enterprise data management experience.
- Experience with GIS data.
- Strong understanding of data management processes and technologies.
- Experience using scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Java, PowerShell, Ruby, etc.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Must be able to pass a full background investigation and obtain a security badge to enter the applicable government facility.
- Experience working with AWS services or AWS cloud certification(s) are a plus.
- Experience in high-performance computing, machine learning, artificial intelligence applications and frameworks in a cloud environment.
- Familiarity with environmental or scientific data processing.
- Familiarity with modern agile software development principles, practices, methods, and tools.
- Experience with version control systems (preferably Git) and issue tracking software (preferably Jira).
Qualifications
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
- Industry certifications such as AWS certifications are a plus.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Java, PowerShell, Ruby, etc.
- Experience with version control systems (preferably Git) and issue tracking software (preferably Jira).

Pay
Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
