About the role
Join our Document Accessibility Services (DAS) team as an Accessibility Transcription Specialist, where your work directly impacts the lives of people with disabilities. You’ll be part of a dedicated crew transforming everyday documents into inclusive, alternate formats like braille, large print, audio, and more.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe documents into accessible formats such as Large Print, Audio, eText, and Braille using designated software.
- Ensure all transcriptions meet client Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with team members and manage timelines effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Receive on-the-job training for format specifications and software usage.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy of transcriptions.
- Adapt to evolving accessibility standards and technologies.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Proficient in using accessibility software and tools (training will be provided).
- Detail-oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Able to manage timelines and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Self-directed and able to work independently on assigned tasks.
- Comfortable with repetitive tasks and able to maintain focus on quality.
- Excellent computer application skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Willingness to work evening shifts if required.
