Our Summer Internship Program at Sysco is a 10-week paid program designed to enhance your education by providing real-world experience. We challenge you, stretch you, and prepare you for your future through a rewarding, world-class experience with the leader in the foodservice industry. Your internship is designed to provide you with the skills and professional experience to take with you well beyond the classroom.

This is a hybrid position located in Houston. Candidates will be local to the Greater Houston area. Relocation is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Exposure to relevant projects and challenges in a dynamic environment
  • Equipped with the knowledge, skill, and expertise needed for the next level
  • Work with and be mentored by industry leaders, receiving valuable performance feedback
  • Planned social activities to network with leading industry professionals
  • Variety of learning experiences through training, development, and mentorship while completing a meaningful project to support and drive the business

Requirements

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related field
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 3.0)
  • Coursework or experience in data and analytics models, architecture, data platform design and development, data ingestion, data visualization is preferred
  • AI/ML experience is a plus
  • SQL/Python experience

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Sitting, finger dexterity for activities such as data entry, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between departments
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching may be required
  • Extensive telephone work
  • Ability to receive detailed information through both verbal and written communication
  • Able to express or exchange ideas utilizing the spoken word
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs
  • Use of both hands is required

Working Conditions

The work is performed primarily indoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
