Data Center Technician, Data Center Operations

About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services designs, plans, delivers, and operates all AWS global infrastructure, keeping the cloud running. The team supports AWS data centers and all servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment to ensure continual customer access. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles, collaborating across AWS to deliver the highest safety and security standards while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost. Responsibilities

• Perform server rack installations and hardware break‑fix on various components
• Troubleshoot network issues
• Respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed
• Serve as a primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders (engineers, software developers, vendors, contractors)
• Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities
• Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues
• Help train and onboard new team members
• Install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and fix problems within the data center space
• Participate in primary responder rotation: monitor data center infrastructure, coordinate response to operational incidents, partner with other teams to rapidly resolve issues
• Help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels
