Data Center Security Specialist, DC Security Amer-West

About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of fast-moving operations and manage a wide array of projects designed to protect personnel, customer data, and critical infrastructure from insider and external threats.
• Manage onsite security forces.
• Ensure consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures and participate in re-occurring site audits and reviews and testing new security technologies.
• Drive day-to-day process improvement activities.
• Manage vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations and patrols, and planning.
• Extract metrics and observe improvements by looking at hard data.
• Write and implement security process and procedures.
• Write reports, create presentations and communicate with management on the status of physical security operations.

Requirements

• 3+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors experience.
• 3+ years of process improvement procedures experience.
• 2+ years of project management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 5+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience.
• 2+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience.
• Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks.
• Familiarity with security program automation, implementation and various Access/Intrusion Control Systems.
• 4+ years writing detailed reports.

Skills

Must have and demonstrate resilient leadership skills, flexibility to work in dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices and strong written and verbal communication.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
