Data Center Security Manager, DC Security Amer-Southwest

About the role

AWS is seeking an exceptional Data Center Security Manager to assess and improve security programs, manage physical security, and resolve complex security issues.

Responsibilities

• Assess and improve existing security programs across assigned availability zones, sites, or campuses, including where strategy and priorities may not be defined
• Resolve difficult security problems in the absence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and adapt operational plans to changing security scenarios
• Contribute to developing strategic goals for the cluster, with work that may have regional impact
• Deliver security ops projects at the cluster level or lead a security project team
• Ensure security program compliance with AWS security policies and procedures
• Assess vendor compliance, define security success metrics, and request corrective actions from vendor management teams
• Contribute to risk and security management by making difficult trade-off decisions and providing recommendations
• Create, optimize, and eliminate SOPs to ensure processes remain relevant and align with team strategy
• Provide support for investigative actions in collaboration with HR, Legal, global security team, and law enforcement agencies
• Participate in business continuity/resilience planning, development, and deployment
• Owning COEs, including writing action items and resolving them
• Deliver QBR inputs and participate in writing PR/FAQs and other narratives (1-pagers, 6-pagers)
• Partner with peers and internal teams to develop solutions that help the AZ/campus/cluster meet objectives
• Communicate proactive measures that reduce security misses and identify issues early; create mitigation plans when problems arise
• Recruit, interview, and begin to mentor

Qualifications

• Experience working on physical security design and implementation of Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems
• Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations
