Data Center Security Manager, DC Security

About the role

AWS is growing rapidly and is seeking a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join the Infrastructure Operations team. The DSM will manage and improve site security operations in AWS data centers.

Responsibilities

• Manage physical security operations, develop post orders, define security procedures, handle site incidents, work with security equipment, participate in construction projects, and drive day-to-day process improvement activities.
• Ensure consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures and participate in re-occurring site audits and reviews and testing new security technologies.

• Must have and demonstrate resilient leadership skills, flexibility to work in a dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices, and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations.
• 3+ years of project management experience.
• 3+ years of process improvement procedure creation experience.
• 3+ years of experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems (eg. LENEL or C-cure).
• 3+ years managing a team of individual contributors and vendors.
• 3+ years of experience running professional meetings.

Prior Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent professional experience in corporate or government security environment.
• 3+ years of experience working in a facility and observing security gaps in physical barriers, security officer procedure, policies, surveillance equipment, and alarm points.
• 4+ years of experience driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
• 3+ years of experience working with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
• 3+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
• 4+ years of overseeing security sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
• 4+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $72,100.00 - $126,100.00 USD annually.
