About the role

AWS serves customers and developers who rely on storage, compute, and our other service capabilities. Our customers trust us to handle their data with air-tight security measures, which is something that we guarantee. AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Data Center Security Manager (DSM) to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team, who will help manage and improve site security operations in our data centers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage physical security operations, developing post orders, defining security procedures, handling site incidents, working with security equipment, participating in construction projects and to drive day-to-day process improvement activities and managing vendors.
  • Ensure consistent deployment of all required security policies and procedures and participate in re-occurring site audits and reviews and testing new security technologies.

Requirements

  • Must have and demonstrate resilient leadership skills, flexibility to work in dynamic environment, exceptional knowledge of security practices and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • Experience acting as a Program Security Officer, Security Specialist, or Security Manager with duties including interpreting and implementing requirements within the personnel, industrial, and physical security disciplines and overseeing security operations.
  • 3+ years of project management experience.
  • 3+ years of process improvement procedure creation experience.
  • 3+ years of vendor management experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing contract security and physical security operation programs such as Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems (eg. LENEL or C-cure).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 4+ years of security service, loss prevention, asset protection, investigations, or law enforcement experience.
  • 3+ years of overseeing security operations and working with security vendors/contractors experience.
  • 4+ years of experience driving campaigns to reduce nuisance alarms.
  • 3+ years of experience working with workflow ticketing and extraction of performance metrics.
  • 3+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communications skills in a professional work setting.
  • 4+ years of overseeing security sub-contractors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction, door repair, fencing, and access controls.
  • 4+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs and physical security countermeasures.
