Data Center Production Operations Engineer
About the role
The Data Center Operations Team at Fluidstack operates at the scale of a nation, managing infrastructure equivalent to the entire electricity consumption of Japan by the end of the decade. You will be responsible for deploying, supporting, and maintaining server and network hardware, ensuring system reliability and meeting 24/7 Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities
- Install, deploy, and configure server and network hardware, and replace parts while keeping asset records accurate.
- Work rotating shifts or on-call to meet 24/7 SLAs, prioritizing and resolving tickets to keep system reliability high.
- Assist network troubleshooting through cabling diagnosis and replacement, and support escalations from lower-tier technicians.
- Provide on-site support across initiatives, and maintain strong working relationships with customers, partner teams, and vendors.
- Troubleshoot server hardware deeply, including POST, BIOS, PXE, IPMI, BMC, and component-level repair.
- Diagnose and resolve physical-layer faults using knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet) and hardware (switches, routers, copper and fiber).
- Resolve tickets efficiently against 24/7 SLAs, working fluently in Linux.
- Take on-call and shift work, and support and lift up the technicians below you.
Requirements
You have deployed and supported server and network hardware in a live data center at scale. You troubleshoot server hardware deeply, including POST, BIOS, PXE, IPMI, BMC, and component-level repair. You know network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet) and hardware (switches, routers, copper and fiber) well enough to diagnose physical-layer faults. You work fluently in Linux and resolve tickets efficiently against 24/7 SLAs. You will take on-call and shift work, and support and lift up the technicians below you.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in data center operations or server/network hardware deployment and support.
- Experience with server hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of network protocols and hardware, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, switches, routers, and copper/fiber.
- Proficiency in Linux and ability to resolve tickets efficiently against 24/7 SLAs.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve physical-layer faults.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.
- Experience with structured cabling.

Benefits
Competitive total compensation package, including salary (base range: $140,000 - $200,000 per year), equity, retirement or pension plan, health, dental, and vision insurance, and generous paid time off.
Pay
$140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location.
Schedule
Rotating shifts and on-call work required.
