Data Center Production Operations Engineer
About the role
The Data Center Operations Team at Fluidstack operates at the scale of a nation, managing infrastructure equivalent to the entire electricity consumption of Japan by the end of the decade. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining server and network hardware, ensuring system reliability under 24/7 Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities
- Install, deploy, and configure server and network hardware, keeping asset records accurate.
- Work rotating shifts or on-call to meet 24/7 SLAs, prioritizing and resolving tickets to maintain system reliability.
- Assist in network troubleshooting through cabling diagnosis and replacement, supporting escalations from lower-tier technicians.
- Provide on-site support for incidents, collaborating with data center engineering and infrastructure SMEs for effective resolution.
- Act as a first responder on-site for incidents, fostering strong working relationships with customers, partner teams, and vendors.
Requirements
- Deploy and support server and network hardware in a live data center at scale.
- Deeply troubleshoot server hardware, including POST, BIOS, PXE, IPMI, BMC, and component-level repairs.
- Have a thorough understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, Ethernet) and hardware (switches, routers, copper and fiber), capable of diagnosing physical-layer faults.
- Work fluently in Linux and resolve tickets efficiently under 24/7 SLAs.
- Take on-call and shift work, supporting and lifting up the technicians below you.
Qualifications
- Experience deploying and supporting server and network hardware in a live data center at scale.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot server hardware deeply, including POST, BIOS, PXE, IPMI, BMC, and component-level repair.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols and hardware, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, switches, routers, copper, and fiber.
- Fluent in Linux, able to resolve tickets efficiently under 24/7 SLAs.
- Ability to take on-call and shift work, supporting and mentoring colleagues.
Skills
- Linux proficiency.

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, and location. This range represents our good faith estimate of the compensation for this role at the time of posting. Total compensation may also include equity in the form of stock options.
Schedule
Rotating shifts and on-call work are required to meet 24/7 Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
