About the role
At Google, we aim to foster work environments that are collaborative, friendly, and fun. As a Data Center Operations Manager, you will lead a team managing the physical infrastructure behind Google’s search technology. Your team installs, configures, and maintains server hardware, Linux clusters, and complex networking components like routers and switches, overseeing high-level installations and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management of teams within data center operations.
- Communicate priorities and facilitate hand-off of operations to following shift leads.
- Work together to identify and resolve problems and create solutions for our global computing and network architecture.
- Manage the implementation of projects within the team.
- Ensure data center-related priorities are consistent with company objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience, 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware, 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, or delivery teams.
- Preferred qualifications: 5 years of experience executing strategic initiatives from conception through delivery within a global enterprise environment, experience working in data center environments, ability to lead and improve Environmental Health and Safety initiatives, ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
Pay
US: $138,000 - $201,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
Schedule
Nights and weekends as needed.
