About the role

The Data Center Manager oversees all aspects of the data center operations, including facility management, server room operations, power distribution, cooling systems, and IT infrastructure maintenance. The manager ensures compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and works closely with IT staff to optimize data center efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the data center, ensuring optimal uptime and minimizing downtime.
  • Manage and maintain physical infrastructure, including servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve data center efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Perform regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement and ensure security protocols are up-to-date.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data center operations or IT management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with data center automation tools and software.
  • Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, including cooling, power distribution, and networking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of data center certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
  • Experience with data center design and construction.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data center management software.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The Data Center Manager will work a standard Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional evening and weekend work required to support operations.
