Key Responsibilites
- May Include Advanced troubleshooting and repair: Diagnosing complex (Munters) HVAC system malfunctions, identifying root causes, and implementing repairs on critical cooling equipment not limited to chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, and precision cooling systems within data centers.
- Performing comprehensive scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure optimal system performance, including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing components as needed, while adhering to strict data center maintenance protocols.
- Analyzing data center cooling loads, identifying efficiency improvements, and implementing changes to optimize system performance, potentially including adjustments to control systems or equipment upgrades.
- Configuring, programming, and troubleshooting complex building automation systems (BAS) that manage data center HVAC systems, including monitoring parameters and adjusting settings as needed.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for Munters HVAC systems within the data center, providing guidance and training to other technicians on complex issues.
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, system performance data, and any issues encountered, including creating reports for management.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- EPA (universal) refrigerant certification.
- Extensive HVAC knowledge: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience as an HVAC technician.
- 1-2 years of experience performing service to Munters data center HVAC equipment.
- Deep understanding of Munters HVAC principles, including refrigeration cycles, air flow dynamics, and control systems.
- Data center specific expertise: Thorough knowledge of data center cooling requirements, critical infrastructure, and potential environmental hazards.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills: The ability to diagnose complex system malfunctions and identify root causes with minimal downtime.
- Strong mechanical aptitude: Capability to perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on a wide range of HVAC equipment.
- Safety awareness: Commitment to following strict safety protocols within a data center environment.
