Data Analyst & Report Writer
About the role
The position will report to the Executive Director of Institutional Effectiveness for job responsibilities and other College related activities as outlined in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
Responsibilities
- Responds to ad-hoc query requests for information from internal and external entities.
- Uses SQL tools to manipulate, analyze, clean, and transform data.
- Develops and maintains portal and database reports.
- Works directly with College personnel to support data gathering, analysis, visualizations, and summary feedback in a manner that is efficient, timely, and professional.
- Works closely with IT for software implementation.
- Verifies data for software implementation and project management.
- Works with College administrators to report initiative and strategic plan outcomes.
- Creates visualizations of data for presentations.
- Manages multiple projects, sets priorities, meets deadlines, and works independently.
- Evaluates procedures to ensure validity, applicability, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Disseminates information clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
- Presents ideas to individuals or groups to ensure that they understand the information.
- Demonstrates commitment to continuous learning by completing all required training, compliance courses, and professional development activities promptly and within established deadlines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in computer, technical, or other analytical fields such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Business, etc.
- 2 years of relational database experience.
- 2 years of experience with SQL.
- Working with large and complex data sets.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills needed to complete complex tasks.
- Understanding of and experience using relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL Server).
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel, including functions, formulas, and pivot tables.
- Professional communication skills to work with other offices across campus.
- Organization and time management skills needed to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint).
Preferred Experience
- With higher education student information systems (e.g., Jenzabar, Colleague, Banner, etc.).
- With data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Basic statistical analytics.
- Proficient with Google Workspace tools like Docs, Sheets, and Drive to create, share, and manage work.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Some travel may be required.

Pay
$55,000.00 per year in addition to excellent employee benefits.
