About the Role
The Data Platform team at Cohere Health is seeking a Business Analyst II to join their dynamic, remote-first environment. This role involves building and maintaining a scalable data ecosystem that fuels analytics, reporting, and strategic decision-making. As a Business Analyst II, you will collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams to gather and document requirements, translate business needs into technical specifications, and support the development of high-quality data solutions. You will independently lead moderately complex initiatives, providing clarity and direction throughout the project lifecycle. Your analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in performing data analysis, ensuring data quality, and supporting data validation processes.
The role offers an opportunity to impact healthcare outcomes positively by improving data workflows, enhancing operational processes, and supporting the rollout of new data products. This position may require occasional travel to Boston, MA, for onboarding and team meetings, but primarily offers remote work flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Partner with clients, product teams, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to gather, document, and refine business and data requirements
- Translate business needs into user stories, epics, and technical specifications to support data product development
- Perform source-to-target data mapping, profiling, and validation using SQL to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Support data quality monitoring, lineage tracking, and end-to-end data reliability efforts
- Serve as the primary contact for requirements clarification and project communication throughout delivery phases
- Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies, retrospectives, and process improvements to enhance team efficiency
- Assist in change management activities, stakeholder communication, and deployment of new data features and products
- Maintain comprehensive operational documentation and client reference materials to ensure knowledge retention and transfer
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within a data engineering or analytics environment
- 2+ years of experience working with healthcare data such as claims, EMR, HEOR, or SDOH
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries for data exploration, validation, and analysis
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience working within Agile Scrum methodologies, including participation in sprint ceremonies
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, public health, economics, or a related discipline
- Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and travel approximately 5% for onboarding and team meetings
