Dance Instructor - The Y in Catonsville

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Dance Instructor to work with our members and lead our classes. This role will be responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment and teaching students of all ages, from beginners to advanced levels.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of each student
• Maintain a clean and organized studio space
• Provide individualized instruction and guidance
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
• Adhere to all safety regulations
• Attend and actively participate in all meetings as assigned
• Incorporate the four character values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility and adhere to the CMY Code of Conduct
• Communicate the Y mission and objectives to the community
• Assist in all other areas as assigned

Qualifications

• Flexible schedule, days, nights, and weekends – this position requires significant evening and weekend attendance
• Proficient computer skills
• Current CPR/AED/O2/First Aid certification (or within 30 days of hire)
• YMCA New Staff Orientation and 6 hours of child abuse prevention training
• At least 21 years of age
• Physical demands: Will be required to walk, stand, kneel, stoop, push, and lift up to 100 pounds. Continuous operations requiring attention to detail and multi-tasking. Exposure to cleaning supplies. Must be physically able to successfully complete required certifications.
