Dams, Levees, Civil Works Team Lead
About the role
The DLCW Leader role within HDR's Water Business Group involves planning and directing dam, levee, civil works, and flood risk management projects in Kentucky and Tennessee. The position supports the DLCW Business Class Lead in building and maintaining client relationships, participating in project development, and preparing contract documents. Additionally, the DLCW Leader mentors junior-level staff across various disciplines and assists in coordinating projects with inter-related disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Plan and direct DLCW team within Kentucky/Tennessee
- Support the DLCW BC Lead in building and maintaining client relations
- Participate in project development
- Prepare contract documents
- Mentor junior-level staff across various disciplines
- Aid in coordinating projects with inter-related disciplines such as hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, and GIS
- Aid in coordinating with HDR's other regional and corporate business class technical leads and advisors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 years of experience
- Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license required
Preferred Qualifications
- Actively engaged in professional or industry associations
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, GIS, and CADD
- Experience with GeoStudio/Ensoft slope stability, settlement, seepage, and deep foundation response software
- Experience with Bentley suite of geotechnical data management and visualization software (gINT/OpenGround/LeapFrog)
- Knowledge of advanced numerical modeling techniques and commercial software for advanced numerical modeling
