About The Role

The Certified Damage Prevention Technician will report to the Operations Lead. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Code Rule 753, promoting safe excavation practices, following utility, state, and federal guidelines, wearing PPE, participating in safety meetings, and conducting gas main locating and site visits.

What You’ll Do

• Comply with and promote safety and quality standards
• Follow strict utility, state, and federal guidelines
• Wear assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and company uniform
• Participate in safety meetings
• Hand out educational materials and public awareness items to excavators
• Visit third-party excavation sites and construction zones regularly
• Collect data using handheld tablet or other collection devices
• Show courtesy and professionalism when dealing with customers and other employees
• Complete work orders on assigned dates
• Travel to visit sites on occasion
• Communicate with management regularly
• Escalate issues and questions to supervisor
• Maintain a satisfactory attendance record
• Report equipment and vehicle issues immediately
• Communicate with dispatchers
• Perform other duties as needed

About You

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid driver's license
