Dairy Supervisor
Position Summary
The Dairy Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Dairy Department by ensuring product availability, inventory accuracy, merchandising excellence, and outstanding customer service. This position assists with supervising department associates, maintaining product quality standards, controlling shrink, and executing department sales initiatives. The Dairy Supervisor helps create a clean, organized, and customer-focused department while supporting store profitability and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Affiliate with overseeing daily Dairy Department operations.
Ensure dairy cases, coolers, displays, and promotional features are fully stocked and properly maintained.
Monitor product quality, freshness, code dates, and rotation procedures.
Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and stock replenishment.
Maintain accurate pricing, shelf tags, and promotional signage.
Ensure department conditions meet company merchandising standards.
Provide exceptional customer service and product knowledge.
Affiliate with resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Promote a positive shopping experience that encourages customer loyalty.
Affiliate with training, coaching, and developing Dairy Department associates.
Delegate daily tasks and monitor productivity and performance.
Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment.
Affiliate with supporting department leadership initiatives and objectives.
Provide leadership coverage in the absence of the Dairy Manager.
Monitor inventory levels to maintain strong in-stock conditions.
Help control shrink through proper product handling, rotation, and inventory practices.
Execute promotional programs, seasonal displays, and merchandising initiatives.
Affiliate with ensuring efficient organization of backroom and cooler inventory.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Monitor refrigeration temperatures and storage conditions.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized department environment.
Follow all company safety policies and operational procedures.
Support department sales, profit, and productivity goals.
Minimize losses related to spoilage, damage, and shrink.
Affiliate with inventory counts and operational reporting.
Support merchandising efforts that drive sales growth and profitability.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous grocery, dairy, retail, or food industry experience preferred.
Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of dairy product handling, merchandising, and inventory practices preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in refrigerated cooler environments for extended periods.
Ability to push carts, stock merchandise, and move pallets safely.
