About the role

This position serves as an Office Assistant I - Receptionist within the Office of the District Attorney in Wichita, KS.

Responsibilities

  • Processes departmental documents involving significant procedure and sequence in accordance with established and accepted policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional atmosphere in the lobby.
  • Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls appropriately.
  • Record staff out to destination and back in to our office.
  • Greet and direct visitors to proper locations.
  • Absorb walk-ins as needed.
  • Receive and sign for mail or deliveries.
  • Ensure everyone entering secure office signs in as required.
  • Scan documents at needed for assigned responsibilities.
  • Clip newspapers articles marked for retention.
  • Secure documents to be picked up from our office.
  • Maintain updated resources and reference material.
  • Monitor eFile emails in a timely manner.
  • Document and distribute as needed based on established procedures and protocols.
  • Verify filing as complete or notice addressed as needed.
  • Move to appropriate folder.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent including or supplemented by courses in secretarial and/or business subjects.
  • Two years of experience in varied clerical and secretarial work or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Bilingual Spanish (preferred).
