Assistant District Attorney
About the role
This is professional legal work of a complex nature involving responsibility for conducting criminal investigations, preparing and presenting criminal court cases and other legal work. General supervision is received from the District Attorney.
Responsibilities
- Conducts criminal investigations
- Prepares and presents criminal court cases
- Handles criminal prosecution
- Performs related work as required
Requirements
- Reside in Putnam County or a contiguous county within the State of New York
- Be admitted to practice law in New York State
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Maintain residency for the duration of employment
Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of experience as a practicing attorney
- Experience handling criminal cases
- Good knowledge of computer skills and social media technology
- Excellent writing skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in criminal prosecution
PAY & BENEFITS
- Starting Salary: $99,372
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday – Friday
