Responsibilities
- Handling criminal and juvenile cases in Pawnee County from filing through final disposition.
- Making sound, ethical charging and plea recommendation decisions.
- Preparing and trying cases before a jury.
- Working closely with victims and ensuring their rights and voices are respected.
- Collaborating with law enforcement agencies in case preparation and legal guidance.
- Maintaining strong professional relationships with courthouse personnel, judges, court staff, defense attorneys, law enforcement, and community partners.
- Soliciting justice in a way that protects the public, respects the law, and maintains the integrity of the office.
Requirements
- A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- A license to practice law in Oklahoma, or the ability to become licensed in Oklahoma.
- Strong ethical standards and sound judgment.
- The ability to work independently.
- The ability to work well with victims, law enforcement, courthouse personnel, and the public.
- A willingness and ability to do trial work.
