About the role
The Cashier/Expo is a Front of House team member responsible and accountable for superior customer satisfaction through positive customer management in greeting, menu guidance, payment processing, and loyalty benefits. This role carries out the company's core values and serves as a role model for company culture, delivering the best service in a clean, friendly, and safe dining environment. The Cashier/Expo reports directly to the assigned Shift Leader and General Manager, and is accountable for executing the policies, procedures, and direction they provide.
Required to successfully complete and meet the requirements of the General Team Member Training Certification and the Cashier/Expo Training Certification. Must be able to fluently speak and write in English to best communicate with customers, vendors, and leadership, and must maintain professional dress, speech, and behavior at all times.
Responsibilities
- Ensure customers are professionally and enthusiastically greeted, guided through the menu, and processed efficiently with a friendly, positive attitude aligning with company core values
- Maintain superior knowledge of the entire menu, ingredients, modifications, allergens, and upcharge costs
- Field inside, drive-thru, and phone orders
- Perform work of other team members as needed
- Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system; accurately reconcile daily check outs, sales, tips, and credit cards
- Follow proper cash handling procedures at all times
- Abide by policies and procedures for comps, voids, employee food, and the customer loyalty program
- Complete position Primary and Secondary Responsibilities as well as Daily Duties at a superior level
- Address customer complaints and report to the Shift Leader and/or General Manager
- Perform table touches to ensure order accuracy, food quality, needed refills, and guest satisfaction
- Keep company passwords and intellectual property confidential
- Demonstrate a positive, helpful attitude as well as present professional conduct and appearance at all times
- Use, implement, and adhere to all company policies, procedures, systems, and processes
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Schedule
Scheduled working hours range from Sunday through Saturday, 5:30am to 5:30pm, with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours in length. Availability to work weekends is required.
Requirements
- 18+ years of age
- High school graduate
- Prior restaurant experience preferred but not required
- Dependable, honest, trustworthy, and possesses integrity
- Positive attitude and great personal drive
- Courteous and enthusiastic
- Willingness and ability to learn in a fast-paced sales environment
- Exceptional communication skills
- Exceptional guest services skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Proficiency on Aloha POS preferred but not required
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and efficiently preferred
- Successful completion of General Team Member Training Certification
- Successful completion of Cashier/Expo Training Certification
- Reliable transportation
