Cytotechnologist
Job Summary and Responsibilities
You will perform cytology testing within the analytical laboratory, serving as a department resource, assisting in process improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with pertinent laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements such as CLIA, CAP, TJC, and OSHA.
Every day you will generate and report results used for making accurate diagnoses and prognoses that influence patient care and management. You will operate, quality control, maintain, troubleshoot testing-related processes, equipment, and instrumentation, and document appropriately. You will provide advanced, theory-based troubleshooting skills, communicate effectively with coworkers, providers, and other departments, and exhibit integrity and stewardship through adherence to laboratory and hospital policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Job Requirements
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
- Preferred: One (1) year of experience in the field or in a related area
- Certification by American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Cytotechnologist within six (6) months of hire
