About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various cytotechnological procedures under the supervision of experienced staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform Thin prep, ascitic fluid, esophageal, gastric, spinal, bronchial, make smears
- Provide preliminary diagnosis and perform staining
- Handle PAP, GYN image guided ThinPrep screening, and NON-GYN (ThinPrep, smear, and cytospin) screening
- Assist with on-site procedures
- Label and identify specimens
- Handle FNA procedures in areas where they are performed
Requirements
- CT (ASCP) and LA State License through LSBME (CLS Cytotechnologist)
- 2 Years Experience Required
Qualifications
- Must have a strong understanding of cytotechnological procedures
- Experience with FNA procedures is preferred but not required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Proficiency in handling various cytotechnological specimens
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
