Cytotechnologist
About the role

This position involves performing a variety of routine and complex tasks with emphasis on diagnostic skills relating to exfoliative and aspiration cytopathology.
Responsibilities
- Communicates professionally and accurately within appropriate situations
- Complies with age-specific competency requirements
- Maintains high department skill and service levels
- Ensures compliance with CLIA 88 and CAP quality requirements
- Maintains a safe professional environment
- Monitors and participates in pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing phases
- Performs cytologic-prep tasks as needed
- Reports GYN cases independently and accurately
- Maintains compliance with accreditation guidelines
- Respects patient safety initiatives
- Interacts positively and without conflict
- Adheres to department and hospital policies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Cytology, Medical Technology, or Biology
- At least 2 years of experience as a Cytotechnologist in a full-service laboratory
- MT (ASCP), MLT (ASCP), HEW certification or eligibility
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Knowledge of CLIA 88 and CAP quality requirements
