Cytopreparatory Technician I

Responsibilities

• Accessions and processes gynecological specimens for microscopic evaluation.
• This includes assigning accession numbers and performing Thin Prep Processing.
• Fulfills all local, Business Unit, and corporate safety policies and ensures compliance with the Cytology Prep Lab.
• Disposes and labels biohazard waste appropriately.
• Minimal problem solving required.
• Maintains specimen identification and integrity throughout all processes of the department.
• Completes all assignments with minimal supervision.
• Collaborates with other departments and colleagues for problem-solving.
• Requires great attention to details and the ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year of Anatomic Pathology experience.
• Anatomic Pathology experience is desirable but not required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Current state licensure, if applicable.

About the Role

Under general supervision, the position is proficient in all of the functions required of the Assistant Cytopreparatory Technician. They are directly responsible for decision making, interacting, and reporting to the Cytology Prep Team Leader/Supervisor and/or Manager.

Pay and Schedule

• Pay range: $17.75+ per hour.
• Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
• Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
