Cytopathologist/Surgical Pathologist
About the role
This full-time role offers a strong emphasis on cytopathology while maintaining a required general surgical pathology component within a large, subspecialty-supported practice environment. There is an opportunity to take on increased responsibility within cytopathology over time, including potential future leadership duties.
Responsibilities
- Cytopathology sign-out including gynecologic, non-gynecologic, and FNA specimens
- General surgical pathology sign-out as part of routine responsibilities
- Participation in ROSE, EBUS coverage, and frozen section services
- Contribution to interdisciplinary clinical discussions and tumor boards
- Engagement in lab quality assurance and CAP compliance initiatives
- Participation in shared practice responsibilities beyond slide sign-out
Requirements
No autopsy requirement
No grossing responsibilities (dedicated Pathologist Assistants onsite)
No cytology screening responsibilities (supported by cytotechnologists)
Qualifications
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pathologist with subspecialty training or strong experience in Cytopathology

Strong internal subspecialty consultation support

Call schedule approximately 4 weeks per year, evenly distributed among full-time pathologists
