About the role

We are hiring a Cylinder Filler/Warehouse Associate in Binghamton, NY. The position is open and offers a pay range of $23-26/hr with comprehensive family benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Handles and fills gas products into liquid, medical and high pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, local regulations, and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas.
  • Safely inspects cylinders prior to filling, conducts safety checks, analyzes products for purity and correct mixtures, and handles high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders.
  • Fills cylinders by pressure and weight, prepares high pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling, evacuates cylinders to eliminate contaminants, and operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Stocks, stores, labels, picks/packs, and distributes materials and supplies, validates delivery of materials, completes quality control sheets, and organizes and controls site warehouse inventoried items.
  • Validates incoming and outgoing product invoices per Company policy and performs general site housekeeping duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift.
  • Able to talk, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crawl or crouch.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and move up to 800 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year of prior experience in a manufacturing operation, filling or loading experience preferred.
  • Strong background in gas, welding and safety supply industry or chemical industry preferred.
