About the role

The Department of Privacy and Cybersecurity Informatics (PCI) in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for multiple open-rank teaching faculty positions in cybersecurity, beginning in July of 2026 at the University Park campus located in State College, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in residential, online, and/or hybrid modes.
  • Teach graduate courses.
  • Collaborate with PCI department faculty and IST faculty on curricular innovation and development efforts.
  • Engage students using various teaching techniques.
  • Develop new courses as per interest.
  • Provide evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level.
  • Commitment to teaching learners at all levels and from all backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Hold a master’s degree or doctoral degree (Ph.D. or other terminal degree) in information science, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related discipline by appointment start date with Penn State.
  • Committed to teaching learners at all levels and from all backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of excellence in teaching at the university level.
  • A desire to collaborate with the PCI department faculty and the IST faculty on curricular innovation and development efforts.
  • A commitment to teaching learners at all levels and from all backgrounds.

Skills

  • Ability to teach in various modes (residential, online, hybrid).
  • Experience in developing new courses.
