Adjunct Faculty Cybersecurity

About the role

Lorain County Community College seeks to hire and employ locally whenever possible. Employees should reside in Ohio, where they can be responsive to on-campus work requirements, and within a reasonable commuting distance of their work location.

Responsibilities

• Teach during the day and/or evenings as needed by the program.
• Feel comfortable using learning management systems (Canvas) in the delivery of courses.
• Utilize and maintain lab equipment.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs and interests of students.
• Administer and grade tests, evaluate students, prepare weekly classes and performance testing based on the course curriculum.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge and appreciation of Cybersecurity and Digital forensics tools and practices used in industry.
• Explain the safe and proper use of tools and equipment used in industry.
• Deliver curriculum on campus.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or a closely related field. Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), Exterro ACE, CompTIA A+, and CompTIA Security+, certifications. A minimum of three years of industry experience; ability to operate a computer to post syllabus, grades, and attendance.
• PREFERRED Qualifications: Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, or closely related field; Prior college-level teaching experience, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacking (CEH), Chip off certifications and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) certifications.
