Cybersecurity Intern

About the role

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Intern in our Atlanta, GA office to support our mission of transforming strategies into actionable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply endpoint security practices, including deploying, monitoring, and tuning EDR tools.
  • Understand and implement vulnerability management processes, including running scans, prioritizing findings, and tracking remediation.
  • Gain knowledge of ISO 27001 & ISO 42001 compliance requirements, including audit evidence preparation and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools, dashboards, and reports to track program health.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including tabletop exercises and developing response plans.
  • Engage in security awareness initiatives, creating and delivering training content to employees.
  • Shadow internal penetration testing assessments to understand the methodology and process.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree or recent graduate in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls) and common operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
  • Exposure to security concepts such as vulnerability management, penetration testing, or compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, ISO 42001, Cyber Essentials Plus) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Genuine interest in pursuing a career in information security.
  • Eager to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
  • Currently enrolled in college (or a recent graduate); relevant coursework, certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+), or CTF/club participation is a plus.

Benefits

This is an unpaid internship available for school credit only. The intern will work 16 hours per week, with one day onsite, if possible.
