About the Opportunity
The Cybersecurity Incident Response Triage IR Analyst is responsible for investigating and analyzing cybersecurity incidents to identify policy violations and insider threats. This role contributes by providing thorough incident analysis and coordination that supports effective resolution and strengthens the organization's incident response capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to cybersecurity incidents related to policy alerts.
- Analyze incidents to determine their nature and scope.
- Collaborate with team leads and other incident response teams for resolution.
- Document incidents and response activities in detail.
- Stay informed on current cybersecurity threats and trends.
- Support the development and improvement of incident response procedures.
- Work with operations, legal, human resources, and management to investigate security issues and validate findings.
Requirements
- US Citizenship required.
- Strong communication skills and knowledge of incident response lifecycles, common cyber-attacks, insider-threat indicators, data loss prevention, and federal incident reporting requirements.
- Ability to present complex technical information to decision makers.
- Capability to work independently under minimal supervision.
- 1-2 years of experience in information security or equivalent education/work experience.
- At least 1 year of experience with event and log analysis using security tools such as Anti-Virus, IDS, Firewalls, Active Directory, Web Proxies, DLP tools, and SIEM solutions.
- Familiarity with network and host-based security tools and software.
- Understanding of TCP/IP, application layer protocols, and packet analysis.
- Knowledge of static and dynamic malware analysis concepts.
- Experience identifying indicators of attack and compromise.
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux architecture and endpoint analysis.
- Basic skills in data parsing and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, grep, sed, awk, regex).
Pay
The pay range for specified states and cities is $53,900 to $120,100 USD. Compensation varies based on location, role, skills, and experience.
