Cybersecurity Engineer Intern

About the role

As a Cybersecurity Engineer Intern at LIMRA Solutions, you’ll partner with a team of security engineers to harden environments, improve detections, and respond to real threats.

Responsibilities

• Build and tune SIEM/SOAR detections (Splunk, Sentinel, etc.)
• Assist with incident triage, log analysis, and root-cause documentation
• Run vulnerability scans and help drive remediation with engineering teams
• Contribute to security automation (Python/PowerShell) and playbooks
• Support phishing simulations and security awareness initiatives
• Help maintain asset inventories, baselines, and control evidence

Requirements

• Working toward a BS/MS in Cybersecurity, CS, IT, or related field
• Basics in networks, Windows/Linux, IAM, and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Familiarity with one scripting language (Python/PowerShell preferred)
• Curiosity, ownership, and clear written communication
• Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Nice to have

• Hands-on CyberArk / SailPoint experience
• Home lab or projects (e.g., SIEM rules, vuln mgmt, detections)
• Git/GitHub familiarity
