About the role

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Utah State University is seeking simulated clients to assist in teaching professional-grade communication skills to veterinary students. You will role-play as an animal owner seeking veterinary guidance and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Study and memorize specific scenarios and facts.
  • Participate in rehearsals and role-play sessions.
  • Be punctual and dependable.
  • Provide constructive feedback during role-play sessions.
  • Receive constructive feedback and continue to develop your skills as a simulated client.
  • Embrace the role of an animal owner and adapt to various emotional and concern scenarios.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to be audio and video recorded for educational purposes.
  • Basic knowledge of common animal species (dogs, cats, horses, farm animals).
  • Some acting experience is advantageous, but not required.

Schedule

ADA Information

The simulated client position involves working with people in a group setting. Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not necessarily from occasional temperature changes. This position requires moderate physical activity, including the handling of objects up to 25 pounds and/or standing or walking more than one hour per day.
