It's import and export work, but it's also so much more than we imagine. ‎ A Customs Brokerage Assistant Manager overseeing daily customs clearance operations, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and delivering high levels of customer service How you create impact Support the management of day-to-day customs brokerage activitiesOversee the preparation and submission of import customs entries and ensure timely and accurate customs clearance of shipmentsMonitor shipment status and address clearance delays or exceptionsAssist with customs examinations, holds, and post-entry correctionEnsure compliance with CBP regulations and Partner Government Agency (PGA) requirementsReview customs documentation for completeness and accuracy and verify proper tariff classification, valuation, and country-of-origin declarationsStay informed about changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and import/export requirementsSupport internal and external compliance auditSupervise Customs Brokerage Specialists, Entry Writers, and Coordinators and provide training on customs regulations, company procedures, and compliance standardsAssist in workload allocation and performance management and also serve as an escalation point for operational and customer issuesSupport employee coaching and development initiativeMaintain strong relationships with customers and provide customs-related guidanceAddress customer inquiries regarding duties, taxes, customs regulations, and shipment status and resolve escalated customs clearance issues promptlySupport customer onboarding and implementation activities What we would like you to bring Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or related field.Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.5+ years of customs brokerage experience from freight forwarding industry preferredPrevious supervisory or team lead experience preferredStrong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification What's in it for you At Kuehne+Nagel we strive daily to inspire, empower, and deliver not only to our customers, but also to our colleagues. Base salary is part of a competitive total rewards package that includes health and welfare benefits, a 401k retirement savings plan, tuition reimbursement, and incentive compensation for eligible roles. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, skills, job location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. Kuehne+Nagel reviews pay ranges regularly to ensure competitive and fair pay based on industry market data.
