Responsibilities

  • Enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate the flow of legitimate trade and travel.
  • Conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.
  • Determine the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States.
  • Prevent the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods and the smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband.

Qualifications

  • GS-5: Three (3) years full-time general work experience or a bachelor's degree with education substitution.
  • GS-7: One (1) year of specialized full-time work experience or a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, or one (1) full year of graduate-level education, or a combination of experience and education.
  • GS-9: Previous or current law enforcement or military law enforcement experience.

Benefits

  • Up to a $15,000 incentive per year for three (3) or four (4) years in certain locations.
  • Annual base salary varying from $41,863 to $112,415 per year.

Pay

  • Varying from GS-5 ($41,863 - $112,415) to GS-12.
  • Up to $45,000 in overtime pay.
