Job Responsibilities
- Perform and maintain accurate HTS classification, valuation, and country-of-origin determinations.
- Review and validate shipping documentation including invoices, packing lists, and transport documents.
- Organize and manage efficient document filling process.
- Collaborate with customs brokers to ensure declaration compliance on a daily basis.
- Verify import and export declaration with provided instructions, origin certificates, USMCA certificates, etc.
- Check Customs and Accounting traceability in SAP.
- Prepare, file and track CAPE declarations in CBP's ACE Secure Data Portal.
- Assure and monitor the use of import adjustment offset licenses (e.g. Section 232) provided by customers.
- Prepare and coordinate post-entry corrections (PSC) in cooperation with brokers.
- Request and archive Supplier’s Long-Term declaration in collaboration with Purchasing.
- Responsible for management and oversight of customer requests in the fields of Free Trade Agreement qualification, Origin determination, RVC calculation, etc.
- Monitor sufficiency of continuous customs bonds and coordinate renewal process.
- Communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, carriers, brokers, and CBP.
- Support Supply Chain team in shipment activities.
- Support cross functional teams with Duty Impact Analysis to assist with sourcing decisions and landed cost calculations.
- Coordinate the preparation of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO)/Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) company certification.
- Ensure compliance with CBP regulations.
- Provide reporting and analysis to Management via Ad Hoc and/or ACE Reports.
- Aid in the development of departmental procedures and ensure that established procedures are properly understood and being followed in regards to areas of direct responsibility.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Customs Analyst or Entry Writer.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and ABI filing.
- Proven experience with HTS classification and import/export compliance.
- Familiarity with CBP's ACE Secure Data Portal.
- Customs Broker License (preferred but not required).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good organization and decision-making skills, detail-oriented.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and cope with time deadlines.
- Good mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Perform tasks and responsibilities detailed in Magna’s IATF16949 policies, procedures, and work instructions.
