About the role
Ingredion is hiring a Customer Support Specialist to manage customer queries and complaints received via telephone and email. You will process orders, modifications, and escalate complaints across several communication channels. Customer service is the primary function but may include minimal selling or promotion of products by assessing needs and suggesting alternative products. The role requires remaining calm when customers are frustrated and experience using CRM platforms.
Responsibilities
- Handle customer service inquiries and complaints via phone and email
- Process orders and modifications
- Escalate complaints as needed across communication channels
- Assess customer needs and suggest alternative products or services
- Adapt responses or conduct extensive research based on customer feedback
- Apply knowledge of company products, services, and problem-solving skills
- Identify and implement process improvements within the team
- Pursue Lean Six Sigma or Lean Specialist certification
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent on-the-job experience
- 2-6 years of Customer Service / Support experience
- SAP, Salesforce, and EDI experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power BI)
- Strong detail orientation and business/math acumen
- Ability to think critically, analyze problems, and advocate for fact-based solutions
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and resolve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Successfully coordinate and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Pay
Annual pay range: $58,700.00 - $78,300.00. Final base salary will be determined based on responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market data. This role may also be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
