Customer Support Engineer - PCB

About the role

This position emphasizes local customer support with required travel as needed. The role focuses on delivering elite service to KLA PCB Territory customers to ensure Orbotech systems perform accurately, driving high customer satisfaction and perceived value of services.

Responsibilities

• Provide service support to customers, including system commissioning, breakdown repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Develop close working relationships with customers to support the sale of KLA’s product portfolio.
• Complete all field reports accurately.
• Represent KLA’s company culture and values professionally.

Requirements

• Work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Travel required to support the customer base as needed (estimated 50–60% travel).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently, including lifting materials overhead.
• Ability to bend from the waist and lift items overhead safely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years of related work experience.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.

Skills

• Solid background in electronics, mechanical engineering, vacuum technology, and basic knowledge of Printed Circuit Board technologies.
• Ability to diagnose pneumatic, vacuum, electronic (AC/DC), and computer issues to the component level.
• Strong understanding of WinNT, Win XP, Win7 & 10, Linux, and MS Office products.
• Excellent communication and customer interfacing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills with adaptability to varying work hours, locations, and conditions.
• Flexible approach to responsibilities, enabling both independent and team-based work.
• Ability to work alone or unsupervised for extended periods, often in challenging conditions.
• Detailed and logical problem-solving approach.

Pay

Base Pay Range: $29.19 – $49.62 per hour.
