Duties

Maintain books and records for hedge and private equity funds.

Prepare and review Net Asset Values, management fees, carried interest and performance fee calculations, investor allocations, and capital account statements in adherence to the control framework, including policies and procedures.

Prepare and review capital call and distribution calculations including investor notices and reconcile call proceeds and distribution payments.

Cook with Investor Relations on the release of capital notices and report on the investor reporting portal.

Work closely with manager, team, and support functions to manage client expectations and ensure adherence to SLA timelines for client deliverables and ad hoc requests.

Liaise with support functions, internal and external stakeholders, including Risk and Control groups, Audit, Tax, Compliance, Implementation, and Investor Relations.

Review fund governing documents and related agreements, and ensure the correct set-up and maintenance of fund structures and investments in the accounting database.

Maintain operational KPIs (timeliness, pricing exceptions, error rates) and provide trend analysis and remediation actions to improve quality and efficiency.

Support new fund launches and strategy expansions by partnering on operating model design, control mapping, dry runs/parallel periods, and post-launch stabilization.

Lead remediation of complex breaks and systemic issues by identifying patterns, partnering with technology/operations to address root causes, and implementing preventive controls to reduce recurrence.

Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Masters's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as Customer Success, Fund Accountant, or related occupation.

The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field of study plus 4 years of experience in the job offered or as Customer Success, Fund Accountant, or related occupation.

Skills

  • Using accounting platforms including Arcesium, Geneva, Mantra, Investran, and Cascade to look up, edit, and record accounting entries to adhere to the US GAAP for Investment Funds;
  • Managing accounting for bank loans and other private credit investments including the treatment of paydowns, interest, and PIKs;
  • Performing fund accounting for various fund types including standalone, master/feeder structures, sidepockets, blockers, PE, and hybrids.
  • Using Excel for fund accounting purposes including investor allocations and calculating managements fees and carry, as outlined in the fund documents;
  • Utilizing complex formulas including VLOOKUP and SUMIF functions to accurately record client reports;
  • Executing dual-sided entries in accounting platforms including Arcesium, Geneva, Mantra, Investran, and Cascade to ensure accurate past, present, and future accounting reports;
  • Performing waterfall, carried interest, and IRR calculations and assessing their impact on accounting records.
