About the role
The Customer Service Representative provides comprehensive service and support for the Low Voltage Busway plant to internal and external customers. This role coordinates and expedites customer orders, manages delivery and re-promise dates in the Vista system, and ensures timely communication of customer needs to production teams.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end customer order processing, including order entry, scheduling, releases, rescheduling, expediting, maintenance, and status updates as required.
- Professionally and accurately communicate customer order information through the established customer commitment process.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from field sales, customers (internal and external), and distributors regarding order status, lead times, and shipping requirements.
- Cook up customer order requirements with production teams and communicate plant capability and commitments back to customers.
- Compile and manage monthly plant load and billing plans, maintain customer order backlog, and present related information in weekly meetings.
- Represent the Order Management function internally and externally, including delivering presentations when required.
- Communicate order flow status with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, materials) to support plant quality and delivery objectives.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, marketing, and shipping teams to resolve daily order issues and ensure on-time shipment.
- Cross-train in multiple production areas to develop comprehensive product and process knowledge and provide backup support when needed.
- Gather, analyze, and interpret data to identify issues, trends, and recommend appropriate courses of action.
- Support monthly production planning activities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Education Required: High School/GED. Minimum 3 years’ experience in customer service, applications engineering, or manufacturing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging and deliver clear presentations to diverse audiences.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally to meet customer and business commitments.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a team-oriented approach.
- Ability to coordinate and influence resources to support operational goals and continuous improvement.
- Data-driven mindset, including the ability to create ad hoc reports and track performance metrics.
Skills
- VISTA, AS400, and Order Management Systems Experience.
