About the role
Work with store leadership to assist in front-end operations or anywhere assigned to maximize the collection, production, sales, salvage, and customer service of the store. Serve customers to enrich their shopping experience within the communities we serve.
Responsibilities
- Maximize sales performance through proper rotation, displays, signage, and inventory of processed merchandise.
- Meet or exceed sales goals on a consistent basis.
- Represent Goodwill Keystone Area positively by providing excellent customer service to all customers, donors, and employees.
- Train and develop sales associates and ensure merchandising guidelines are followed throughout the sales floor.
- Assist in ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and timely, including opening/closing procedures and cash handling.
- Enforce cash register procedures and support staff in adhering to Goodwill Keystone Area policies and procedures.
- Perform opening and closing of the store as assigned by the manager.
- Participate in interviewing candidates for entry-level retail roles.
- Contribute input to and assist in administering associate evaluations.
- Serve as backup to the Customer Service Manager as needed.
- Ensure and enforce compliance with all asset protection policies and procedures.
- Report problems and concerns to the Store Manager or Regional District Director in their absence.
- Support and promote organizational programs and special events as required.
- Contribute to additional tasks and projects as needed.
- Promote workplace safety and ensure duties are performed safely.
- Communicate progress, problems, and concerns to the Store Manager.

This position is not supervisory but includes coaching, training, and development of team members. All supervisory duties (e.g., hiring, disciplinary action, performance reviews, termination) are the responsibility of the Store Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; or three (3) years of related experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred but not necessary.
- Previous retail experience preferred.
- POS and basic computer experience preferred.
- Must be able to work in an open warehouse environment exposed to various weather and temperatures.
- Must exhibit a high level of integrity and business ethics.
- Must meet qualitative and quantitative performance standards as established by the company.
- Must be able to continuously perform repetitive work at a set pace.
- Strong interpersonal skills, effective communication, and basic math skills required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
- Must complete and pass State background check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance.
