About the role

The Customer Service Clerk position at Cosentino aims to enhance the shopping experience by providing efficient and courteous customer service. This role reports directly to the Office Manager.

Responsibilities

• Implement and adhere to Casentino Customer Service Standards.
• Provide accurate and courteous answers to customer inquiries about products and store policies.
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and competently.
• Maintain a clean and professional appearance in the front end area.
• Handle returns, exchanges, and price adjustments efficiently and courteously.
• Monitor and adjust front end activity to meet customer needs.
• Intercede quickly and courteously when a cashier requires assistance with a customer transaction.
• Act as a cashier when needed to ensure a friendly and convenient shopping experience.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally and escalate to management if necessary.
• Comply with health regulations, sanitation guidelines, and safety procedures.
• Adhere to governmental regulations regarding weights and measures, alcohol and tobacco sales, and food assistance programs.
• Show strong verbal and interpersonal skills for positive customer and peer interactions.
• Perform basic math and reading skills required for the position.
• Promote ads and specials to boost store sales and profits.
• Navigate the Kronos system and support the Accounting Team as directed by the Office Manager.
• Assist with additional tasks as assigned by management.
• Perform physical tasks such as pushing and pulling groceries, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, and squatting.
• Climb ladders up to 5 feet in height as needed.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. A liquor license must be obtained prior to the first day of work (if applicable).

Qualifications

Completion of ongoing training and development as outlined in the Cosentino Learning Plan is required.
