About the role
This contract role supports the Energy Transmission organization and is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of communication materials from concept through successful, on-time delivery as measured by achievement of key metrics. The individual in this role will support business objectives for both internal and external communications.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end development of communication materials from concept through final delivery
- Manage the planning, creation, review, and distribution of internal and external communication content
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and translate business objectives into clear communication materials
- Coordinate communication campaigns and initiatives to support company programs, projects, and announcements
- Ensure all communications adhere to brand standards, corporate messaging guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee project timelines to ensure communication deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule
- Support leadership communications, including announcements, briefings, and strategic updates
- Coordinate with marketing, public relations, and operational teams to ensure consistent messaging across channels
- Conduct audience analysis to tailor communications for maximum clarity and impact
- Maintain documentation and records of communication plans, deliverables, and results
- Review and edit communication materials to ensure quality, clarity, and consistency
- Track and report on communication metrics to leadership and stakeholders
- Continuously evaluate communication processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
- Ability to absorb technical, transmission-space subject matter and translate it into clear, everyday communication
- Strong project management skills, working cross-functionally to coordinate events and materials
- Demonstrated experience writing memos, talking points, fact sheets, and communication plans, and supporting event-related communications
- Proven ability to take complex topics and make them understandable for a broad audience
- Background in communications and/or project management
- Four-year college degree required
- 5 years of relevant work experience required (marketing/communications background)
Skills
- Marketing and communications expertise, with an understanding of and demonstrated fit for the transmission space
- Strong writing, editing, and audience analysis skills
- Ability to manage multiple deliverables and timelines simultaneously
- Preferred (not required): experience in public-facing roles, on-the-ground events management, consulting, political/marketing coordination, or copywriting
Pay
$14.00–$17.00/hr
